Two schools recently encouraged fitness events in the name of health education and fun! Olympic View Elementary found a healthier way to do a fundraiser this year with a PTA-sponsored Walk-a-thon.
Across town, Mountain View Elementary held a school-wide Fun Run, despite pouring rain. Each grade level ran together, with race numbers donated by South Sound Running and the PTA provided pencils and snacks for everyone who participated. They found a great cheerleader and running partner in Supt. Raj Manhas who ran two laps around a fairly long track with the 2nd grade students.
